About Ecofan 812
The EcoFan 812 is produced by the Canadian manufacturing company, Caframo. There are a number of licensed suppliers in different countries, and the brand has now become popular around the world.
The EcoFan 812 is designed to sit on top of a free standing wood or pellet burning stove, and generate their own electricity from the surface heat. The fan then circulates the warm air around the room, distributing heat and warming the room.
The fan will start automatically once placed on a surface that is at least 65 degree Celsius. As the stove heats up, the speed of the fan increases. The optimum temperature for the EcoFan to run is between 205 and 345 degree Celsius (150-300 degrees Fahrenheit), and the manufacturers recommend removing the fan from your stove, if it exceeds that temperature range. Once the fire has run its course and cools down, the Ecofan 812 will automatically switch itself off.
In order to work efficiently, the EcoFan must be placed away from the chimney stack, to allow access to cooler air. The EcoFan 812 is powered by thermoelectric modules, which need this temperature gradient in order to generate electricity.
The highly efficient blade design is an advancement on the previous generations of EcoFan, and advertises efficiency savings of up to 14% - due to the need to use less fuel to effectively heat the entire room to a comfortable temperature.
Easy to clean and maintain, a detergent free cloth is all that?s needed to wipe down the external surfaces of the EcoFan.
