About Evening Dresses

An evening dress is a staple in any woman?s wardrobe, and there are any number of options available, depending on your body shape and natural style. Channel your inner Marilyn with a plunging neckline and a flared skirt. A pale coloured dress in this style is instantly vamped up with a slick of red lipstick, and some killer heels. Grecian evening dresses are a perennial fashion favourite and hide a multitude of sins. Or try adding a bit of sparkle to a classic shape with a diamanté waist belt, or a vintage brooch pinned at the hip. Tomboys will prefer the clean lines of a bandeau maxi dress, which is versatile to dress up with some sparkly jewellery, but long enough to hide your favourite sneakers underneath. A vintage ball gown can make a great alternative to a classic evening dress, particularly when teamed with modern accessories like a great clutch bag. Plus size women can make the most of a small waist or great cleavage with a bustier top or some strategic draping. Petite and tall ladies should look for known brands, or styles which can be easily altered. The better the fabric, the better the dress will hang on you, so choose something from a recognisable brand, or an evening dress made from a heavier fabric such as tulle or lace, which will keep its shape when worn. Be sure to check whether the evening dress can be hand washed or needs to be dry cleaned ? dry cleaning charges can add up if you plan on wearing the dress a lot.
