About Folding Table Football
Table football has been a popular game for generations. It was first invented by an enthusiastic football supporter called Harold Thornton in 1921 when he decided that there should be a football style game that could be played in the home.
There is a huge variety of different types of table football but the folding table football is probably one of the most practical. This is because it can easily be folded away when it is not in use, saving space and de-cluttering your home.
The varying types of table football differ from table to table, so much so that it can have a huge influence on the way that the game is played. The majority of football tables have one goal keeper per team. On some football tables the movement of the goal keepers is restricted so much that they can no longer reach the ball if it goes into a corner of the table. However, some varieties of football tables have sloped corners so that the ball is quickly returned to the game with no fuss.
Perhaps the biggest thing that varies depending on the type and style of table football you choose to buy lies in the footballs. The material of which they are made can differ widely with some made of wood, cork, plastic and sometimes even marble or metal. What the ball is made of can change the game dramatically as it changes the speed at which the ball travels, and the level of grip that the ball has on the players and the surface of the football table will also be different depending on which type of ball you opt for.
