About GoPro Hero 3
The brainchild of a surfer who struggled to get the footage he desired, GoPro has become the go-to product for those looking to capture footage of their adventures.
Launched in 2004, the company has quickly gained a reputation among media professionals around the globe, and even went into space on Felix Baumgartner's 24 mile high jump.
GoPro is unrivalled in the field of extreme sports photography. Its products comprise a small camera, which can be mounted onto surfaces such as surfboards, snowboards, helmets or skateboards. The latest in this line of devices is the GoPro Hero 3 (and its later successor, the GoPro Hero 3+.)
30% smaller and 25% lighter than the previous model, the Hero 3 shoots in HD (720p) with frame rates of 25 to 30 frames per second. A 'Black Edition' of the camera is also available, which has the capacity to shoot 1080p video at 60 frames per second, a vast improvement on the regular model. The design also includes standard water and shock proofing to protect the camera from any damage.
There are plenty of accessories for the camera, allowing users to attach it to various surfaces and help them to look after the camera between shoots. However, customers should make sure that the accessories they purchase are made for the Hero 3 and 3+, as it has a different shape to previous generations.
