About Microsoft Surface Case
Since its launch in 2012, the Microsoft Surface has become one of the most popular tablet devices on the market. The original Surface RT, and its sister model the Surface Pro, were succeeded by the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 in 2013, but all models have retained the original dimensions of 10.81 inches (wide), 6.77 inches (high) and 0.37 inches (deep). Due to the uniform size, any tablet cover which fits one Microsoft Surface, will fit them all.
Microsoft has developed two keyboard covers to fit with the Surface tablet, called the Touch Cover and the Type Cover. The Touch Cover is touch-sensitive, and just 0.128 inches thick, while the Type Cover has raised keys similar to a computer keyboard, and is 0.24 inches thick. Both covers attach to the tablet via a magnetic strip.
Other manufacturers have produced keyboard covers which are compatible with the Microsoft Surface, and double up as a case for your tablet.
It is also possible to buy a Microsoft Surface case without a keyboard, and there are a large range of these cases on the market, in a variety of colours and materials. Some cases include extra features such as a stylus pen, a built-in tablet stand, and pockets for Surface accessories such as the keyboard attachment. Bespoke cases can come in a variety of different prints and styles, while photos or other chosen images can be superimposed over a Surface case to make it really unique. Look out for harder plastic cases or waterproof cases for added protection.
