About Pine Double Beds

Pine beds are a popular choice as they combine a sturdy and durable construction with a look that can complement a wide array of room designs. Pine is an incredibly neutral material which means that untreated bed frames can be painted or varnished to any colour or wood shade. Treated pine bed frames can come stained or varnished. Pine double beds come in any number of designs. More contemporary styles are lower in their height and feature plain square cuts without embellishment in the woodwork; these types of beds suit more modern décor. Traditional looking designs can feature higher and more ornate boards at the head and foot of the bed. Designs may simply have plain posts that line the boards at either end or they may have carved swirls and rounded knobs adorning the best posts. Some pine double beds may include under bed storage, which usually consists of drawers or boxes that fit into the area under the mattress, making use of what is usually lost space. In this vein, bed may also include a second guest bed which is stored under the main mattress. This can be slid out for use and then returned to its original position to store. Whilst some bed frames will be sold with their mattresses, others will come without. As dimensions vary, especially when looking at sizes such as king or queen size rather than standard double, it is important to select mattresses that are appropriate for the bed frame in question.
