About Wii

Wii is a popular gaming console developed by Nintendo Co. Ltd. Launched in 2006, the console was designed to be used by the whole family to offer a collective experience of playing home video games. The Wii console has been extremely successful since its launch, with millions of copies of Wii games sold around the world. The console box is available in a variety of colours, including white, black and a red limited edition. Accessories One of the most unique features of the Wii console is the Wii Remote, which is a handheld device that detects the movement of the player, allowing interaction with the game displayed on screen. This is particularly effective when playing Wii Sports, giving the player the ability to experience several simulated sports games, such as tennis, boxing and golf. In 2007, Nintendo released the Wii Balance Board, which uses Bluetooth technology to accurately measure the weight and balance of a player who stands on top of the board. This technology was mainly developed for playing Wii Fit, a game that features exercise, aerobics and balance. Games Since the Wii console was launched in 2006 alongside 21 games, a huge range of titles have followed. This collection has included fitness titles, such as Zumba Fitness and Just Dance, music titles such as Karaoke Joysound, and party titles, like Mario Party. For adults and older children there are edutainment titles, like American Mensa Academy, and Let's Create! Pottery. In addition, a large range of action and adventure games are available.
