WHO MAKES WHAT.(1/43 F1)
ok,so you want to collect formula one models in the most popular scale,being 1/43.where to start? there are many producers of these diecasts and all i propose to do here is point you in their general direction.
MINICHAMPS is probably the biggest maker,an extensive range of current and classic formula one cars.
ONYX,also known as minibri of portugal,produced current formula one cars from 1989 to 1997
QUARTZO another minibri company,have a large range of classic f1 cars with excellent detailing.
BRUMM of italy,makers of a large range of mostly classic f1 cars,predominantly italian,but also some german,french and british racers.
HOTWHEELS have a small range of modern f1 cars,ferrari,jordan,stewart,mclaren and williams..
IXO mainly 1/18 but do some 1/43.
KYOSHO limited f1 range.
CORGI varied scales,usually 1/35. some formula one cars produced

DINKY various old f1 models
YAXON formerly known as FORMA. limited range of f1 cars from the 80's
RBA modern and classic f1 cars

other makers of various formula one models are CRESENT,CHAMPION,MAJORETTE,MERCURY,MEBETOY,SOLIDO,TOMICA(DALIA)POLITOY/POLISTIL,PULL-BACK,VC.the scale of some of these makers may vary,i.e. 1/55, 1/41, 1/32 etc.
There are also a good number of firms making handmade formula one models in 1/43,try checking out JOHN DAY,WESTERN MODELS,C-SCALE,AMR-TENARIV,MIKANSUE COMPETITION,CIRCUIT SERIES,MERI,BBR,TAMEO,SRC,there are many more.
so,there you go,there is more to getting a formula one/racing car collection together than just minichamps,this is NOT a comprehensive list of all the manufacturers (apologies for omissions),but you can shop around to fill the holes in your collection using a variety of makers.
