We show enviable awareness and competence in everything that concerns facial and body skin care, However, care of intimate parts of a body - is such delicate theme, that not each mum will devote her daughter in its subtlety… Check up, how well you know rules of intimate hygiene.
So, Rule 1 Do not apply usual cosmetic soap for intimate hygiene. What acid-base balance our skin has? You’re right, 5,5. And do you know, that pH of vagina is much lower - 3,3? The nature “has oxidised” it specially, to kill harmful microbes, and help spermatozoa finding a way to ovary easily. Usual shower gel makes “intimate” balance more alkaline. It opens a green corridor to pathogenic bacteria, which provoke muguet and vaginitis, and “turns on” red light to spermatozoa. Therefore use only special, “sour” means. They clean softly, deodorize, destroy harmful flora and remove irritation of mucous membrane. Also remember: gel for intimate hygiene is not intended for treatment of sexually transmitted diseases. If you have discharge, itch or burning - address to the gynecologist.
Rule 2 Take intimate shower minimum twice a day. Ideally it is necessary after each visiting of a ladies’ room. But if you do not have such possibility, use damp napkins impregnated with antiseptic lotion. They contain no spirit causing irritations of mucous, but many of humidifying vegetable oils, calming extracts of medicinal grasses and dairy acid restoring acid-base balance. But this rule operates only in case that you get napkins only with a mark “intimate” and only in drugstores.
Rule 3 It is necessary to change daily linings each four hours! After all everything they have absorbed, - fine environment for reproduction of bacteria. The longer you use a lining, the less advantage it has and the higher probability of inflammation is. By the way, the same rule concerns also linings for critical days. If you are inclined to allergy, prefer usual linings without flavorings, instead of flavoured. Be especially attentive to intimate hygiene, if you are pregnant. After all 80 percent of complications are caused by infections of vagina, which arise because of ignorance of elementary care rules.
Rule 4 Use liners for critical days taking into account “droplets” on packing. Their quantity - 2, 3, 4, 5 - mean, how much moisture they are capable to absorb. And not duration of critical days. To your data, one droplet means thin daily linings, though usually they not represent it on packings. Six drops or an inscription “night” mean night linings - they are wider and calculated on protecting linen since evening till morning. In the first days of menstruartion, when discharge is intensive, gynecologists advise using linings with four and more drops, and in other days - two-three. And you should necessarily store linings in individual packing. By the way, not so long ago special liners, impregnated with extracts of medicinal grasses appeared on the market. In the list of diseases this novelty cures are not only inflammations of small pelvis bodies, menstrual cycle infringement, adhesions, endometriosis, but also… hemorrhoids.
Rule 5 This rule concerns tampons. Use them only in the first days of menstrual cycle and change each two hours. Excess of term of operation provokes dryness of vagina and mucous irritation, and also is fraught with fast reproduction of dangerous microbes. Substances they start excreting in huge doses, can get to blood system and become the reason of a so-called toxic shock syndrome. Attention! At inflammatory diseases of vagina and uterine neck you should avoid using tampons.
Rule 6 Be protected from bacteria and excessive dryness by creams for intimate hygiene. Doctors advise applying even before bathing in a pool or in open reservoir. Antiseptic additives which they are enriched with, will not give pathogenic bacteria any chance. These creams can be used also as greasing substitutes during sex. They soften, humidify and calm mucous, restore its protective film. By the way, it is especially actual for older women. The matter is that after forty hormonal background changes, and рН mucous of genitals becomes more alkaline. It is better to buy creams for intimate hygiene in drugstores, instead of in sex shops.
Rule 7 Maximum convenient underwear is a pledge of intimate health Do you know, that fashionable now strings and tanga cause censures in gynecologists most of all? Certainly, they look beautiful and sexy, but a thin strip “works” as bacteria carrier from anus to genitals during walking. Besides, if linen adjoins skin too densely, it blocks access of oxygen to it and breaks blood circulation. Good lingerie should be made from natural materials (cotton, flax, wool, etc.). It absorbs moisture, allows skin breathing and does not create a nutrient medium for bacteria. But natural lingerie has minuses - it is stretched quickly. And woollen is absolutely unacceptable in heat. Synthetic lingerie, certainly, is beautiful, but does not stand fire: it does not absorb and does not pass moisture. As a result, skin can suffer from rush and irritations. Microfiber pants look beautiful and are not injurious to intimate health. The only “but” – they are expensive. In any case, whatever lingerie you have chosen, check up its gore is necessarily cotton.
