Arranging your own courier..Be warned

Like if this guide is helpful

Be warned.  I ordered some bits from ebay and arranged a courier to collect the goods.  I got the seller to measure the parcels and weigh them.  All was fine until three weeks after I recieved a bill from the courier for £87.01 in extra charges. This was according to them the parcel was 10cm longer and 6cm wider.  I have no way of checking but dont see why the seller would measure them wrong.  Nothing I can do.  So be very careful arranging your own courier service.  I used Interparcel and if you google it, i'm not the only one.  Seems like a scam they are pulling off.  I used paisley frieght in the past and the items were 10cm smaller than the ones declared by the seller.  Waiting nearly three weeks after the package arrived I have no means of checking.  Most couriers if they have a problem, keep the goods and post a card and you have to go and collect and pay any fees.  This is a way to scam people out of money
