Shiny smooth tile work great with suckers

Bathroom tiles are no longer smooth.

Years ago, there was a typical sort of tile used in bathrooms across the UK. These tiles tended to be white, high gloss and imported from Spain. From the 70's onwards, millions of these tiles were used (often in attractive avocado colour)  but they were cheap and effective although a little boring. The good thing about these sort of tiles is that their smoothness allowed things to be stuck to them. You can easily apply tile transfers to them and the suckers that come with bathroom organisers and radios, when pressed onto them, would stay in place forever.

Trendy Tiles are not smooth

Nowadays, tiles come in millions of attractive designs and whilst they make our bathrooms look fantastic, you can no longer lick and stick and simple sucker to them as it won't hold for more than a few seconds. Since we are constantly trying to organise and add more things to our bathroom, losing the ability to stick things to our tiles has become a problem.

These won't stick to modern tiles.

Because most modern tiles, even the ones that appear pretty smooth still have thousands of pits all over them that make them resistant to this sort of rubber sucker. If you want to hang a mirror, radio, or soap dish from your tiles and you don't have high gloss ones then there is a solution.

Tile Laminators help suckers stick to rough bathroom tiles

Tile Laminators are the solution!

Tile laminators are special waterproof stickers that can create smooth spots on tiles so you can stick things onto your rough tiles. They are completely waterproof, transparent and come with a special glue that fills the microscopic holes in the tile, creating a smooth surface for the suckers on your favourite bath toy! Sometime high end bathroom organisers come with them included in the box and they wont even be mentioned in the instructions so be sure not to throw them out if you're not sure what they are. You can buy them in all shapes and sizes and they can be removed once you no longer need them) although a fair amount of elbow grease and some Flash or nail polish remover can help with this.
