Courier booking agents - caution

Like if this guide is helpful

Cheap courier booking may leave you uninsured.

There are a few courier booking agents that by booking through them give you discounted rates on services from many of the big name couriers. This can be a great way to get economical postage for your Ebay sales, however you need to be aware that although you may be booking the services of a 'big name' courier to pick up and transport your package you are not agreeing to the actual couriers terms and conditions BUT the terms and  service exceptions (destinations), uninusured item list or other restrictions of the BOOKING AGENT, and you can find yourself sending an item that the courier is happy to cover under its insurance for example glassware, but your booking agent may state they won't cover it, so your parcel is actually unisured. In the event of loss or damage you can be left out of pocket while the booking agent can claim the insurance from the courier for themselves.
For sending parcels one of the best bets is Parcelforce booked through Ebay / Paypal, the discounted rate is vastly cheaper than the over the counter Parcelforce price at the post office, and there are no nasty surprises.
Happy Ebay'ing
