Don't blame the sellers - blame the delivery company

There is still a problem with feedback, specifically with regards to dispatch time.

I myself post all of the items that I sell within 1 working day.  In most of my auctions I give my buyers the option to pay for 1st class or 2nd class Royal Mail delivery.  I pride myself in my ebay feedback as it shows that i offer good service.

It annoys me that some external factors affect the scores which buyers leave me.  For example, it is not my fault that Royal Mail sometimes have delays and the items take a little longer than normal.  I post the items out rather quickly and once I leave the post office it is not my fault if there is a delay.  It is beyond my control.

I understand that there may be issues that need resolving if items go missing, or there is a substantial delay and in those instances I will chase it up with Royal Mail.  Some buyers are not happy and want Royal Mail to deliver items the next working day for items which they paid 2nd class for.

Am I the only one who thinks that it is wrong to leave 1 star or negative/neutral feedback if an item takes 1 day longer for Royal Mail to deliver?

I thought that ebay introducing the new system would help, the one where sellers can mark items as dispatched and therefore letting the buyer know that the items have been posted.  Some buyers must think that sellers are superman and can transport items to the other end of the country the same day.
