E & W Anstie Ltd were responisible for several Silk Series issued between 1914-1916

Unlike most other silk issuers of the time Anstie wove rather than printed the silk

All Anstie silks were anonymous with no makers marks but are very disguingishable by the woven patterns, The sizes can vary quite dramatically due to them all being hand cut...

Below is a list of series issued by Anstie 1914-16 as far as i know these are all they ever issued

Large Flags....Series of 10....(4.5cm wide)

Small Flags......Series of 42.....just over 4cm widw

Royal Standard & Portraits.....Series of 9....Size varies

Regimental Badges.....Series of 86..........3.2cm wide

This last set has some silks with updated designs so different examples of the same silk may be found with added battle honours or a different title or design colour...These can be highly valued and sought after by collectors....There are also a few designs that Anstie did not issue but find thier way on to market now and again, These are also highly prized
