I recently bought a Ping G10 driver as new, boxed, unwanted xmas present, when the club turned up it appeared as stated. However after a few weeks the shaft snapped, l contacted Ping Europe, gave them the serial number and they confirmed it was suspect. l took the club to the local ping dealer who pronounced it genuine until checking it with a known Ping original.
The alignment aid on the crown of the club was not completely round, number fake and slightly different writing. The black paint on the sole different, the grey lattice on the sole different. None of these are obvious if you don't check against a genuine club.
The "gentleman" l bought it from expressed his shock!!! Offered a full refund on return of the club. There are two working in Tandem from Birmingham addressses given to me to return the club were different than given to Paypal.
Ebay have investigated and "taken action" what that was they wouldn't say, Paypal are still investigating but don't appear to be reading the emails properly, it seems to be mostly automated responses.
I have snce found a website offering Ping replicas driver, wood and hybrid for £75 the three.
Check where originally purchased. Serial no (check with ping) Ask why they are selling.
Will l buy another club from ebay. Doubtful
