Fraud in Royal Mail

This is just a very simple warning to buyers and sellers alike that I have experienced a high number of packages which have either been interfered with or have been opened and the contents removed somwhere between posting and delivering. I have it on very good authority that there is something of a racket going on among workers in some Royal mail centers whereby goods are routinely stolen by royal mail workers.

First of all, any packages you send should be made hard to open with staples and/or strong tape and it is advisable to make a concerted effort to disguise the shape of any object which is valuable and likely to be noticed by feel. Any objects being posted should be packed in such a way that if they have any sharp edges, then those sharp edges should not be able to puncture the inside of the package and cause it to lose it's contents.

Royal mail is clearly still a very effective and economical option for shipping goods, but if you are sending anything that is valuable it is most certainly worth the slightly increased expense of recorded delivery, which is basically only a further 70 pence onto the postage price. There is of course something of a black hole between first class recorded and Parcelforce in terms of cost versus weight and sometimes Royal mail standard parcels is the only option. Again, every effort needs to be made to ensure that the package doesn't burst and isn't easily opened during transit. For heavier items, Parcleforce 48 is an economical option over a certain weight. I got this guide off someone else but the more copies of it submitted, the more people will see it.
