Free LCD TV

But do these schemes actually work?

If you're anything like me, you'll want the latest technology for the cheapest price, or better still, for free!

Trawling through the multitude of listings on ebay for a LCD TV, Plasma TV, iPod, Laptop, Nintendo Wii or anything else that's the latest must have item, every now and you'll come across a listing promising to be able to get you the must have item, which normally sells for hundreds of pounds, absolutely free!

So what's the catch?

If you have a closer look at these schemes, like this example: http://hdtv.freebiejeebies.co.uk/?id=3259 (cut and paste whole link into your browser) which offers free HDTV and home theatre systems, you won't be surprised that it's not as easy as you may have first imagined. Once signed up to the scheme, each user is required to complete one of the 'sponsored offers' before they are deemed 'accepted.'

Each 'Offer' option involves signing up to a special offer, normally from one of the many Bingo or Gambling sites, however there is also the occasional insurance, credit card or home DVD rental offer, most of which require money to be parted with. The bingo and Gambling sites normally require you to sign up and place a bet of a mimimum amount (normally £10). The insurance option requires that you either take out a new home insurance or car insurance policy with the company, whilst the Credit Card offer requires you to apply and be accepted for the credit card on offer. The most attractive of all of the offers comes from the home DVD rental offer, which, despite needing credit card information to verify age, does only require the user to sign up to their free home rental trial, which if cancelled before the end of the trial won't cost the user a penny, and receive one of the free trial DVDs.

If you manage to make it this far, I'm afraid the truth is, the hard work has only just begun! The next and final part of the scheme has to be the most challenging (depending on how popular you are!)

So you've signed up to the scheme, placed your £10 bet on the horse that had to be shot half way through the race, or have just sent back that film you didn't even have time to watch... All that's required now is for you to refer other people to do also sign up and complete an offer. Each gift available will have a certain number of referrals required before the gift is shipped to you. This can range from around 5 referrals for something small like free iPod Nano, to beyond 20 referrals for the more expensive gifts like a free Nintendo Wii or a free LCD TV.

But does it actually work? And if so how?

To cut a long story short, the truth is the schemes actually do work, it is possible to get a free LCD TV and this is how...

Each of the companies behind the 'special offers' pay a referral fee to the scheme for each lead they provide - be it a new insurance policy, a free trial, or even a new addicted gambler. The amount they pay in total for each of the leads the user has referred surpasses the price of the gift the user wants, allowing the scheme to purchase the gift using part of its referral takings and then pocket the difference. This way everyone's a winner - very clever!

And here's how you can get the item for free

1. Go to one of the sites offering the scheme eg: http://hdtv.freebiejeebies.co.uk/?id=3259 (cut and paste whole link into your browser) This site offers free LCD TV and other items

2. Sign up to the scheme and select the gift you'd like to receive

3. Sign up to the LoveFilm.com 2 week trial offer (Credit card details required for age verification, however no money will be taken if the account is closed before the end of the 2 week trial)

4. Select 10 DVDs and add them to your rentals list

5. Receive the DVD you like most, watch it, send it back, then cancel the account all within the 2 week free trial period.

6. Refer your friends to do the same (depending on the cost of the free gift, it may even be worthwhile to incentivise them to do this for you?)

7. Receive your free LCD TV or other gift and enjoy!
