This is a question I get a lot when selling Hairdressing Scissor to hairdressers and Barbers'. The information I give to this question is based on experience in using and contacting the suppliers of both the German and Japanese Company's. Japanese metal is made by combining 440C Stainless high quality steel Blades that are tempered, one of the most famous name is Samurai . The latest development in german steel is Micro Carbide Steel, its high in performance metal that is very fine. This made form molten steel and atomized under extremely high pressure. One of the most famous German scissors is Jaguar. But having this knowledge this not answer the question! The only way to discover this is to try both. The Hairdresser I have spent a lot of time with when I am advising them on which scissors to choose, tell me there knowledge on this. What I can say on this information is Japanese scissors always comes out Top. But always remember it down to yo to decide on the comfort and design on your scissors. If you have any Question please contact me on 'My World' http://myworld.ebay.ie/cuttingedgesuppliers I will update this regularly, Calvin
