Getting your larger items home

Hi,

I was recently in a position of my Wife wanting a dining table and six chairs, that we had seen on ebay, however the items were in Hampshire and we are in Cheshire, I would have had to hire a large van and pay for fuel, plus spend the time travelling, so I contacted some of the courier services listed on ebay, I got a price, deducted that from the maximum price my Wife thought the items were worth to her, and submitted my bid, won the item contacted R.J. Express Freight Ltd. of Worksop, they took my details and those of the vendor, made arrangements to collect from him, they also gave me an expected delivery time, phoned me to say they were about an hour away, the driver and his mate were very professional, cheerful and helpful, a credit to their company, so my advice to ebayers is do not necessarily limit your search to the local area, some of the better items may be outside your usual radius, try it, I paid £75 to get the glass topped table and six chairs, two of which were carvers, I could not have done it for that price even without counting my time. I will be using this company again, I recommend them to all ebayers, and Britain is now just one big market place to me.
