How To Make Toffee Apples

Like if this guide is helpful

Toffee apples are great, not only for Halloween, but for all year round - they bring out the big kid in you and are so easy to make!

My recipe will make 8 delicious toffee apples: -

8 green apples
400g Golden Caster Sugar
4 tbsp. Golden Syrup
1tsp. Vinegar
8 Lolly Sticks (or wooden kebab skewers)

What To Do

Place the apples into a large bowl of boiled water, to remove the wax outer coating from the apples.

Dry the apples using kitchen roll.

Push a wooden stick firmly into the top of each apple and place each apple onto baking tray,  lined with grease proof paper.

Pour the sugar and water into a clean saucepan and cook on a medium heat, stirring frequently, until all the sugar has dissolved.

Carefully stir in the syrup and vinegar and bring the mixture to the boil at 140 degrees.

Once the mixture has reached the desired temperature and consistency, carefully dip each apple into the hot toffee mixture.  Twirl the apples around until each one is completely coated in toffee.  Allow any access to drip back into the pan before placing each coated apple onto the baking tray to set.

Leave to cool for at least 2 hours before eating or if you want to keep them til later, wrap them in cling film and they will stay fresh for up to 3 days!
