How to get a good deal on eBay.

Ebay started as an auction site so try Auction only first in the search engine.

Also consider if what you need really MUST be new. Could you live with a lightly used item eg. Tools/motorcycles/roof boxes etc.

Normally we impulse buy so take your time to compare traders, prices, postage rates and especially distance ( as any trip you make is a ROUND TRIP! )

Remember to put things in your watch list if you like them and keep on searching. This way it is easier to go back and compare different price deals.

Look for Buy it Now or best offer. Offer 20% less than the asking price and haggle onwards.

Look at a sellers feedback. While we mostly all leave positive feedback, people may drop hints like "good item but shame about postage" or "happy but item not as fully described"

If dealing with a private sale don't throw in stupidly low bids or ask them if they'll take less if you come round tonight and buy it at 50% less than the asking price - this just annoys sellers.

Finally, once whatever you have bought has served it's purpose - could you get some money back on it or even a profit with a re-sale. I once bought a box trailer, moved three family members houses with them and turned a profit once we were all done.

Thanks for reading.
