I am writing this guide as it was impossible for me to buy EMU or UGG Australia boots via ebay with complete confidence.I eventually chose to buy new EMU Stinger Boots from a reputable high street retailer, and am 100% confident that they are the real thing!
I hope my observations will help you to identify the real emu's from the zillions of fakes out there.
The Box - is of excellent quality, glossy finish, and is in one piece. I will add a picture of the box later
Label - There is a label attached with a silver chain to the EMU pull tag on the top of the boots. This label is in one piece - It is folded, with a V cut at the bottom of the outside. It is old gold coloured on the outside and brown inside. It says emu, has a blue round-shaped Australian flag - Naturally Australian (white font) - written underneath with the email address www.emuaustralia.net. the label inside is written in English and french and uses white font. Under the V is written Premium Australian Sheepskin.on the reverse is details of the sole technology - emu SOLE tm. I will add a picture of the label later.
The Boots - Very high quality, and well finished. The sheepskin lining is a creamy gold colour and feel thick and luxurious. Th suede exterior has a lovely quality, soft feel and smells right. The top of the boot is bound all round and the word emu is embossed in the fabric (all round: emu emu emu emu...) On the outside of the top is a small branding tag in suede - this is embossed emu. The seams are double stitched, and where the boot meets the sole it is once again bound, but this binding is not embossed with the wording emu. The branding on the back of the boot, above the heel (Same as Ugg Australia) is embossed leather and suede - when you rub your finger across you can feel that the word emu is raised.
The sole is in one piece, and has emu embossed throughout. Inside emu's have a removeable insole which has an arch support.
I really hope this helps!
