Maglite - Need to catch up with LED technology

Just a quick note on Maglite.

Firstly I am a fan of Maglite, brilliant quality - BUT they are living on past repuations with old technology.

Why do they still sell (and at a high cost to boot) the old Krypton (standard) bulb variety of their torches?

Every model still have the old style filament bulb, Yes you can buy LED versions for a gew pounds more and YES you should !!

Almost every other manufacturer offers as a first line LED models, Maglite, stuck in the 2000's seem to keep on pushing old technology at top rate prices.

Take the Solitiare, great little keyring torch (from 1990) but every mini torch now-a-days is LED lit, not the Maglite Solitiare. Maglite need to get up-to-date and stop selling old tech torches for high prices.

My advice, expecially for a small keyring torch is LED Lenser V9 (cheaper, Lithium lightweight batteries, LED, Smaller and Much, mch mopre powerful)

Leatherma also have a small LED torch (Monarch 200) it also takes Litihum batteries, is more powerful, though about twice the diameter of a Solitaire and a little more expensive

The only advantage Maglite have with the Solitaire over the LED competition is Colour, Most LED torches comes in black, silver or grey; whereas the Solitaire comes in pink, red, silver, grey, black, blue, purple and green.
