If you want to learn how to make money online without a website then the quickest way to get started is to become an affiliate.
What is an affiliate?
An affiliate is some who promotes and sells a product produced or created by someone else – the seller - for a commission. If you become and affiliate you can earn generous commission from these sellers by marketing and finding buyers for their products. The products can be physical products like those sold on Amazon or digital products ready for instant download.
As an affiliate it is your job to send traffic and buyers to the sellers website and if the buyer makes a purchase you will receive a commission of that sale. Usually commissions are about 50% of the sale price. You can make some decent money if you can make a few sales a day. You will not get rich overnight, but it can soon add up.
As soon as you get started your focus should be on sending traffic (buyers) to the sellers website so they can purchase the product you are promoting. Look for affiliate programs that have resources to help you with your marketing efforts. These resources can be:
Videos to show you how you can promote the products
Pre-written reviews of the product (of course it’s best to write your own review of any product you promote and it does help if you have the product yourself! You can then give a proper review of the product.)
There are loads of affiliate programs out there. Clickbank.com is probably the most popular for internet marketers. It's easy to sign up and there are hundreds of products in various niches to choose from. It's free to sign up too.
I did state earlier that you don’t need your own website. It does help if you do have one though. If you don’t have the money to spend on hosting and building your own site you can use a free blogging service like blogger.com or wordpress.com. (I prefer Wordpress, although I do have my own site now, I did start off with blogger in the beginning). You can then promote as an affiliate by writing reviews on the product you are promoting or placing product banners in side boxes on your blog.
These blogs are easy to set up and you can be writing your first affiliate review within minutes. I have used both Blogger and WordPress and they are both user friendly.
If you do go down the route of writing your own blog please make sure your blog is focused on your chosen niche and not several different niches with lots and lots of reviews about completely unrelated products. For example, if you have a blog reviewing golf clubs and you are an affiliate for an online e-commerce golf site, you need to keep with that niche in your blog. If you start writing about mobile phones (because they are a lucrative market to get into) in the same blog it looks a like you are just doing it for the money. Which you are, but you want to give good, solid information about your affiliate product in your chosen niche, in this case golf clubs, and the sales will come.
If you want to review mobile phones, create another free blog. People searching for mobile phones reviews do not expect to get directed to a golf site! They want to go to a site where they can find reviews about the latest mobile phones.
I hope this short article has given you some ideas about making money without having your own website and becoming an affiliate. Even some of the big names in internet marketing still promote other product owners stuff as an affiliate.
And, of course, there is ebay!
