Bought out by Quad as a stopgap between the FM1 Valve unit and the FM3 all Transistor unit the Quad FM2 has proved in the event and with the passage of time to be the most desirable of the early FM analogue radios. Its warm detailed valve FM performance is ideally coupled to its transistor decoder to provide outstanding FM stereo performance. If your thinking of getting one try and make sure the valves are of the highest quality ie Mullard, Brymar, etc. Excellent examples of the FM2 can still be found although they are becoming increasingly rare and ideally they should be coupled to a Quad 33 or 44 Pre-Amplifiers but will work very well with many other Pre-Amplifiers. Heartily recommended.
