What is PU leather
When shopping for leather furniture, you will often come across the label "PU Leather". So what is PU leather; it is leather made from the inner splits of the hide and finished with a polyurethane coating. This leather is made resistant to water penetration and has a high fade resistance. For furniture in every day use this type of leather is great since spills and things can be easily cleaned and it is truly a user friendly covering. It is a great bargain for the quality you will obtain at about half the cost of real leather products and will still look awesome in your home.
PU leather has become a perfect replacement in the manufacturing of almost all Upholstery items. With properties similar to leather but having superior durability, good hand feel, good breathability and easily maintained it has replaced leather in the manufacturing of many products like upholstery, sofas, chairs, shoes, garments, bags, purses, sporting goods, car seat covers and the list goes on and on. PU leather can look so perfect that even leather professionals will find it difficult to tell the difference without dissecting the product.
