Recognizing a fake, copied or illegal DVD

Like if this guide is helpful

We have a dvd rental store, and have been buying dvds on Ebay as the price of dvds in South Africa is high.

We have recently been charged for possessing illegal dvds. We were told buy the anti-counterfeit officers that the following facts were indicative of a fake, copied or illegal dvd.

1. No authentic dvd is region free.

2. If the dvd does not have an IFPI number, it is not authentic. This is a tiny engraved number on the core of the dvd.

3. If the dvd is available before the official release date, it is not authentic.

4. Check the quality of the disc itself. Most of the Asian imports have a "blister" on their core.
