Rice pudding

Easy rice pudding recipe

Ingredients:
125 grams pudding rice (short grain)
62.5 grams castor sugar
2 pints of milk

Alternatives:
If you want to you can swap 1/2 pint of milk for 1/2 pint of single cream to give it a creamier texture, You could also add 2 teaspoons of vanilla essence into the mix to give it a vanilla flavouring.

Method:
Preheat oven to gas mark 2 (I believe this is about 150 c or 300 f)
Rinse the rice in a sieve and put it into an oven proof dish along with the sugar and the milk and mix together.
Place into the oven and cook for approx 2 1/2 hours take it out and stir it every now and then, (especially if using cream).
You could also mix in some drinking chocolate powder once cooked to give it a chocolate flavour, (kids really like this), Or any other flavour milkshake powder.
You can experiment with lots of different flavours to make it your own.
You can make larger portions, but just remember to add some extra cooking time.

Please be careful not to burn yourself on the hot oven, Any little helpers must also be supervised in and around the kitchen.
