Royal Mail, Claims & How you Should Send Items

Like if this guide is helpful

We constantly get questions about posting items to buyers through Ebay and whilst we do provide a lot of information at, we are trying to reduce the mistakes sellers frequently make.

For starters, if you're posting items of any value, you should only ever use Special Delivery as this is the only insured service. If you post items via 'recorded/signed for' in the belief that the item is secure or being tracked, you will be disappointed. This service is ONLY suitable for documents, isn't insured and the likelihood is that it won't even be signed for.

Make sure items are adequately packaged. That means making sure it could sustain a weight of up to 20 Kg (it happens) and could take being thrown in the air and dropped. It is not beyond the realms of possibility that it could sustain damage en route so if you don't adequately package/protect an item, don't be suprised if you find it damaged!

If you require more information or advice we have a wealth of information for buyers and sellers needing advice on postage.
