Royal Mail, and recorded delivery.

I would like to share my experience with royal mail, i bought an item from a buyer that was sent 1st class recorded delivery, to be signed for right!!!!! Well i received the item no problems at all, only i didn't sign for it, the postman just put it through my door, has it was just a padded envelope, i went onto the royal mail track and trace website 6 hours later, entered the tracking number, and according to the royal mail website, it was still at the post office where the seller sent it from.

I contacted the seller straight away to inform them, that they wasted all that money on an item that hadn't been signed for. I could have turned round and asked the seller "where my item was" but i am honest. Where other's would have tried that. The seller contacted royal mail regarding the issue and gave them all the tracking details, only to be told they would look into it, they never did.

So seller's be aware of sending item's in padded envelopes by recorded delivery, because it could just get put through that persons door, and the next your getting a message from the buyer asking "where is my item" and your checking the royal mail track and trace website only to be seen that it is still at your local post office where you posted it from, not only are you out of pocket with royal mail, but also with selling the item, has you have to refund that seller.

I think very carefully now specially by sending recorded delivery with a padded envelope, has it could just get pushed through their door, all because the postman cannot be arsed to knock and require a signature, or maybe it's because he is to cold, or maybe behind in his delivery's.

Think very carefully seller's, has this could also affect your feedback by getting negative's.

Hope this helps other seller's out.
