Recently I got an email asking me if the link to an item on ebay was mine as they were interested in buying it. When I followed the link, it asked me to enter my username and password as usual....

Needless to say this was a scam. The only difference between this and the real ebay site was in the title it was ebay 123.com or something similar.

This is my suggestion to counteract these phishing emails: Enter a bogus username and password. This means that the person HAS to test it. Imagine if he HAS to test every reply to every phishing email... and all are fake. Make him (or her) work for his scams. Use bogus
