As reported by the BBC, Tesco will be selling its own-brand software, developed with UK software distributor Formjet.
This includes Ability Office suite, which will retail for £20.99.
Whilst these offerings are good value compared to the defacto commercial offerings, they can still be replaced by free software - so save that £21+!
Google for the software " keyword" as required:

Antispyware - " spybotsd" ---  --- Spybot Search & Destroy.

Antivirus (non-commercial use) - " free.grisoft" --- AVG Antivirus.
Antivirus (unlimited use) - " clamwin" ---  --- Clam Antivirus (Windows version).

CD Burner - " infrarecorder" ---  --- InfraRecorder

Desktop Publishing - " scribus" --- --- Scribus

DVD/media player - " VLC" --- --- VLC media player (no need for pirated PowerDVD/WinDVD!)

Graphics Editor - " inkscape" -- -- Inkscape, Create & edit Scalable Vector Graphics images.

Office Suite - " libreoffice.org" ---  --- Office 2007 compatible, Works import + ability to save in PDF format.

Photo editing - " picasa" ---  --- Easy to use, ideal for novices and managing photo collections, from Google.

Photo editing - " gimp-win" ---  --- (Windows version). Features similar to Adobe Photoshop, has steep learning curve. It's worth it though!

ZIP/unZIP - " 7-zip" ---  --- Similar to WinZIP and supports many compression formats, including rar.

If you find any of this software useful, I suggest you use their PayPal donate links as appropriate -  still the cheapest option & developers benefit directly.
Also, be aware that some eBay sellers are offering the above items for sale by being economical with the truth - not using the application name in adverts and not stating freely available (or in the small print buried at the end of their advert).
