The Complete Guide to Wedding Favours

To help guests to remember your special day give them wedding favours to take home after the reception. These small gifts are a way for the bride and groom to share their joy and serve as parting souvenirs. Once you come up with a theme and the kind of memories you wish to leave with your guests, take some time to find the right elements for your favours.

Choosing Packaging

Place your little treasures in wedding favour boxes or wedding favour bags. Boxes are great for holding sweets and small gifts. Once home, pretty gift boxes look nice stored on shelves or placed on tabletops to remind your guests of the happy occasion. Bag packaging can be equally as inviting. Look through several ranges of paper bags with handles or pouches with drawstring closures. They come in almost any colour you can think of.

Make Your Favours Personal

You could also add special message to  personalised wedding favours such as engraved pens, chocolate wrappers, key rings, or personalised wedding favour candles. Allow enough time for the manufacturer to create the customised favours well in advance of the big day. Add a message to your boxes and bags too if you like. You could also consider adding an endearing note to stickers, acrylic hearts, napkins, and place cards to mark the occasion

Create a Theme - Like Butterfly themes

Butterflies always bring a smile to people's faces and could be an excellent theme for your favours. You could order butterfly wedding invitations to invite your guests to the event and then continue the theme using butterfly wedding favours at the reception. Some of the box favours could have a butterfly sitting on top of the containers. Crystal butterfly favours could rest on the tables until the guests take them home. You could also fill die-cut containers shaped like butterflies with confetti or almonds, and place them beside butterfly place cards to enhance your theme.

Honour Your Wedding Guests

The matron of honour, best man, bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girl, ring bearer, and others need to know the valuable contribution they made to your special day. For smaller guests, you could find children's wedding favours which include colouring books, activity packs, crayons, stickers, and gifts suitable for youngsters. A flower girl will always love a teddy bear wearing a T-shirt with her name and flower girl written underneath. Men's wedding favours include cufflinks personalised with the wedding date and the participant's role, such as best man. A bottle of aftershave or perfume for the photographer also makes for a great wedding favour. Bridesmaids would enjoy wedding charm bracelets and favours containing soap.
