Okay so you've seen them in the shop windows in the high street, the beautiful ladies and the buff fellas modelling the garments that your credit card is calling for, but before these realistic mannequins arrived in the high street, there where they're grand parents the mannequins of 30 - 40 years ago.

Vintage mannequins as they are referred to as they where most likely made in the 1960's and early 70's and sport a weird doll like figure, are still in circulation today, albeit in a tired form, paint scuffing and missing limbs. But these ladies and gents may have been made redundant in the high street and small shops, but on ebay and small websites they can find new life.

I have two 1960's female mannequins and one from the 70's, made before mannequins where modelled on people, thease mannequins where hand sculpted and are truly unique. Clothes still hang on them just as good as their modern day counterparts and further they more fleshier fuller figures fill the clothes much better.

If you're on the market for a mannequin, think about a vintage one, from the 60's and 70's. They'll cost you under £50.00 and they're reall characters!
