The biggest debate we had was regarding High Definition (HD).
Our conclusion - The majority of "affordable" DVD recorders on the market are not true HD they are "upscalers". Upscalers convert a normal signal into a form of HD but it's NOT the "True" high definition stunning quality that you normally see being advertised.

In the current market HD recorders are great if you have the money to buy a true HD recorder and a HD TV, but in our opinion upscalers are probably best avoided. Remember recording in HD would mean less recording time, so its bit of a compromise.
