Why buying a timeshare resale may be the perfect solution for you

In recent years the timeshare investment market has seen a dramatic increase in the numbers of owners, with people investing in properties all over the world from the United States to Australia.  Although many new investors decide to purchase their timeshare direct from a resort, more and more people are choosing to buy a resale property from an existing owner.  As a result of this the timeshare resale market is particularly buoyant, so if you're looking to grab yourself a bargain, here's a few pointers to make sure that you get exactly what you're looking for.
Determine your needs
Before you buy take some time to decide exactly what you need. Don't forget that when you buy a timeshare you're investing in a lifestyle; it's not the kind of investment that is going to make you money.   You need to decide whether you'd be happy with taking your holiday in the same accommodation, in the same resort, in the same country for the rest of the timeshare contract or whether you'd prefer the flexibility of a product which allows you to 'exchange' your timeshare week for a similar week in another resort.  This may cost a little extra but it will mean that you're not tied to the same place for year after year if your dream is to use timeshare as a way of travelling the world and seeing different places.
Do your research
As with any other investment purchase, you should always consider all your options before you buy.  Check out as many 'resales' as you can to get an idea of price and availability. You'll find lots available on timeshare available for resale on eBay.  Always look for adverts which have detailed information and provide lots of photographs.  Research the resort and the general location; do they have the kind of facilities and attractions that you value to make your holiday a good one?  The internet makes it so easy to find out all the information you need to know, without you having to even leave your chair, let alone the country.
Using a resale company
You may find that choosing to buy through a specialist online resale company will take away a lot of the stress surrounding buying a timeshare.  With so many horror stories relating to timeshare scams, a lot of potential buyers are worried about falling foul of a fraudulent company, but if you choose a reputable resale company that has a proven history of successful sales and which belong to one of the timeshare associations, they can prove to be a great way to buy.   By using such a company it will give you the peace of mind that not only will your sale be hassle free but they'll take care of all the paperwork for you too.
Buying a timeshare resale needn't be a stressful time.  Just make sure that you know exactly what you need, do your research, check out the market and, if necessary, use a timeshare resale company to do all the hard work for you and you'll soon be joining the growing numbers of timeshare owners.
