Your Guide to a Romantic Parisian Holiday

Nicknamed the city of love, Paris remains a favourite destination amongst couples, perhaps for its beauty and rich historical background. If planning to embark on a romantic Parisian holiday, plan wisely to ensure your time is well spent doing things both you and your significant other can enjoy and fondly look back on.

Montmartre

Situated on a hill in the north of Paris, Montmartre offers a breathtaking view of the city and its romantic lights. It makes the perfect spot to bring a loved one, whether to enjoy the scenery in union or to propose. Small cafes and shops line along the narrow, winding village streets, inviting in those on holiday.

Arc de Triomphe

Take a romantic stroll down the tree-lined Champs-Élysées, the most famous street in Paris, to the Arc de Triomphe. One of Paris' top attractions, it serves to honour those who fought for France, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars. Sit down and enjoy a romantic lunch at one of the many restaurants along the Champs-Élysées or indulge in some retail therapy at one of the many shops and pick up a romantic gift for your loved one.

Eiffel Tower

The perfect place to propose, the Eiffel Tower offers one of the best views of Paris, when spent with your significant other more than 300 m above ground. Consider putting on a romantic dress, packing a picnic lunch, and enjoying the day at the Champ de Mars—the large green space leading to the Eiffel Tower.

Wall of "I Love Yous" and The Seine

The Le Mur des Je T'aime, more commonly referred to as the wall of "I Love Yous", is located in Paris' 18th arrondissement. Created by Frederic Baron and Claire Kito, it quickly gained popularity as a meeting place for lovers of love. The wall has "I Love You" written on it in 250 different languages. Similarly, take a stroll along The Seine river lined with bookstalls, local artists, and flower shops. Make sure to add a "love lock" to one of the Paris bridges. Inscribe you and your sweetheart's initials on the lock then throw away the key to symbolise unbreakable love.

One by The Five

A private five-room apartment suite hidden on a quiet street near Port Royal, One by The Five is managed by the Five Hotel. While costly, the suite makes for the perfect romantic Parisian holiday; it is designed to arouse the five senses of seduction, providing guests with an elixir of cognac, champagne, red berries, porto, sugar, and cinnamon. Add some romantic candles and rose petals to help set the mood for the perfect evening in.
