Having seen all the reviews on this pump problem i took mine apart and discovered that the impeller pump does not appear to be well made and the failure of the pump on my unit is as a result of the chemical reaction with the water in the spa, this has caused parts of the pump to oxidise and fail. It is simply not good enough that a unit such as this should fail in such a short period of time, i have a swimming pool I and am used to balancing the chemicals and after 10 years have never had a problem with the pool. It is clear to me that the reason for the failure is down to shoddy materials.
At this moment i am trying to source parts rather than pay the GBP 200 required for a new pump, this is a well overpriced item for what is basically a kettle element, a cheap nasty pump and a blower fan with about GBP 2.50 worth of electronics to make it all work and a plastic egg.
will post solutions when i have them! All in all disappointed with the Bestway service and reliability.
