A brilliant dvd tracing the development of British Trains throughout the 20th Century. The dvd provides a record of the the great days of steam, the magnificent express trains developed by the four main train companies, the GWR (The Great Western Railway), SR (Southern Railway), LNER (London, Northern and Eastern Railway) and LMS (London, Midland & Southern) the many famous trains like the Golden Arrow and the Brighton Belle, the War and Nationalism, the amazing variety of lederly locos that survived in to the 1950`s the rise of the electric train, the development of diesel traction, the end of steam and the extraordinary mix of power still available today. Also included are lines closed before and after Dr Beeching, views of long forgotten railway practices and fascinating industrial rail scenes with a collection of weird and wonderful locomotive, loco sheds and various intriguing railway byways. This is the best railway dvd I have bought for a long time.Read full review
