My pioneer DVR 560 recorder is connected at present to a Virgin Tivo box, via scart. Having checked out the latest Virgin V6 box I found that this only has HDMI output, making my recorder redundant. This converter is easy to install and works fine, a drop in sound being the only downside. Just turn it up! Now looking for a splitter as I will have to watch TV via the recorder. Overall a great piece of kit.

It arrived in good time. Looks okay, it didn't come with a power lead, fortunately we had one and it is all connected as per instruction. It has a light on it it but we couldn't get it to work!

It's very simple. Plug the HDMI connection from computer, DVD player, etc to the input and connect the SCART output to an old TV which has no HDMI socket. The video etc then shows on the TV screen. You may need to adjust the TV aspect ratio. Try throwing the switch from PAL to NTSC, to see which gives the better picture. HDMI is a digital signal and SCART is analogue, so you will lose picture quality in the conversion. The resulting picture is definitely not HD and, I would say, not quite SD either. However it is quite watchable - good enough for my purposes anyway

My new Virgin V6 box has no conventional SCART socket. So I bought this to convert my Virgin V6 HDMI output to SCART as I have an existing SCART cable from my living room to the TV in the kitchen. This adaptor works fine and the picture is good. The only problem is that the picture on the kitchen TV is slightly too large and the edges of the picture do not appear on screen. I can live with this but I do not know how to correct it.

My lads TV only had one HDMI slot and that had the Holy Grail in it the XBOX! So when Sky Q arrived with HDMI only connection we could not connect it so with this device we plug the Sky lead in the converter and used a old scart to scart lead from my old video to connect the converter to my TV that had 2 scart sockets and job done. Happy viewing.
