The Africana Commenmorative Mint - RSA 1974/75 Definative Stamp Replica Set.

24 Carat Gold-Plated Sterling Silver Replicas of 16 RSA Stamps from 1974/75.  Stamp replicas were produced by the Africana Commenmorative Mint, Ernst de Jong in 1973

Included in this listing are:

  • The original wooden presentation case with red velvet inlay and padding.
  • A large handling cloth used to pretect the contents of the case.

All stamps are in immaculate condition.  I'd describe them as mint except for slight tarnishing that has taken to some of them over the past 30 odd years.  Please see the photographs of the stamps.  The case itself is in excellent condition with only very minor marks on the top lid.

I understand the stamp replicas will clean up nicely if desired with a proffesional clean, alternatively I believe the unique tarnish that has developed can be very desirable and does infact in many instances add to the items value.

The stamps vary in size, but maximum / minimum dimensions measure approximately: Width 30-45mm, Height 30-40mm and 2mm Thick. Presentation case measures approximately 230mm x 280mm x 50mm.

All replica stamps are marked on the rear surface with:

  • ET+ and B quality marks
  • STG quality mark, which signifies that the stamp replicas contain at least 925 parts pure silver in 1,000 parts by weight.
