As a huge Beatle fan, I was attracted to to this guitar as a favourite of John Lennon as well as the other Beatles. I like the sound of th P90 pick-ups and the enhanced acoustic tenor of its sound as it lacks the mahogany block .and humbuckers of the ES-335. It gives a full sparkling jangle to the sound that is so chracteristic of many Beatles tunes. I don't like the pick-up cover or the tuners and will probably eventually remove it and replace them with grover locking tuners as Lennon did and I love the natural finish. I have owned a 335 and still own some Gibsons and will put it and some of my other Epi's up against them anyday. This guitar is amazingly lightweight and easy to play especially after I take it though my own personal set-up process....I will probably make the changes I stated as well as add a Leonnon comemorative nut cover for fun but none of these things will change the way it plays which is just great...no complaints....Read full review
Like all of my electric guitar purchases in the past, I expected a case to accompany the guitar. It did not, so I had to buy one separately, thus first negative. Second negative was a large dark spot that was also indented slightly into the wood along the side of the neck. In days gone by, an American company like Gibson would have labeled this a 'second,' if it would have released this instrument at all. If it were not for these two negatives, I would have rated the guitar a 5 star instead of a four. I bought the guitar in question because of it's Beatle voice and usage by J, P & G. It does this admirably. After I set the intonation and action appropriately, the guitar intonates perfectly and plays very well. The cherry finish is perfect and quite lovely. The bridge pickup sounds great; the neck PU is a bit too dark and indistinct in tone, so I don't use it. It resists feedback admirably (MUCH better than my old 1960 Gibson ES 330) for a hollow bodied electric while retaining the tonality a hollow body produces. This is a Chinese product, which explains the dark spot on the neck. I would recommend a Casino to those looking for that sound, but make sure it comes with a HS case and there are no obvious flaws in it's materials and construction.Read full review
Fun. The tone of a hollow body Casino inspires you to play different things than you would on a solid body, or even a semi hollow.
