Here we have my home built Honda CX500 Cafe Racer project.
Rescued from the container belonging to some guy up north. I have lots of pics during the build!
Sold as a running project.
Don't let the word "project" put you off - I'd have kept this, considering the amount of effort, bruised and skinned knuckles, cold wet evenings in the rain, blisters and blood, sweat and tears that's gone into it!
From the get go I took the engine out - I know these bikes are notorious for the water pump seal going (I'm in the bike trade!), as well as the alternator, and being a transverse twin (sideways v-twin), it's usually an engine out job for everything. I plucked the engine out and sorted it all (despite the low mileage it's not worth the risk!). While the engine was out, refurbished various parts, and replaced a few on the way. Front brake master cylinder of an FZS600, and headlight from a Honda CB600F Hornet.
Have gone through all the electrics, and rebuilt the bike as a cafe racer, with a very minimalist edge to it. If it's not needed, it hasn't got it!
It's not fast, was never fast. Just a good stylish bike that ALWAYS turns heads wherever you go, even not amongst the bikers!
This bike has a current MoT and Tax. MOT expires August 5th 2014, and road tax expires 30th September 2014.

I have fitted a gel battery worth a lot of money (battery of the same capacity - be sure to sue the same capacity battery on these bikes as the V-Twin needs a big buster battery to turn it over! Lesser capacity batteries will just fry out!). This then ensures it never runs down for periods when it is not being ridden.
Very reluctant sale, I have a "mini-biker" on the way, and need funds. I also need the space as am soon moving out and cannot afford to keep this at my parents house as there is nobody to look after it (even though it is secure, I'd be gutted to come home and see it gone!).
I tend to ride it some Saturdays and Sundays, and I fall in love with it every time, but it simply needs to go due to my circumstances. Please let it go to a good home, to somebody who loves tinkering with bikes, and will make a good show-piece out of it!
Again, this is a project bike, has an MoT and tax, so can be ridden, and I ride it every other weekend. But due to being a project, it is sold as seen with no warranty or guarantee given, implied or granted. Having said that, I ride it with utmost confidence.
Ideally to be taken away by trailer or van, as the rear tyre has a very slow leak (seems to be from the bead/rim, so a simple fix!).
No tyre kickers or time wasters, I can smell them miles away as am in the bike trade. Test rides and inspections welcome, subject to arrangement.
Bike is in East London, but I can ride it to Potters Bar (where I work) if that's easier, but wouldn't be in a position to keep it there overnight.
