I'm not a big fan of no-name RAM. I'm more of a Hynix or Samsung RAM guy. I've had off-label RAM fail upon installation or not be recognized at all. Or, have it fail 2 weeks into use. The trouble is, the cheap price you pay makes it a negative margin transaction to get it replaced. Too much trouble and not worth the time spent to RMA. I've put this RAM under load for hours at a time and without a swap partition allocated (it's a Linux thing) and it has worked flawlessly. This RAM will likely go out of production soon so I am going to purchase as many of these particular sets as possible. I will be needing 4gb sticks of PC2-8500 soon. Try buying PC2-4200 RAM in large sticks and you'll see how out of production RAM costs have skyrocketed. Google that pc2-4200 in a 4gb stick and you'll see what I mean. The memory chips were as advertised and at a reasonable price. However, probably because I have a high speed laptop, I didn't notice as large of a boost in speed as I expected. I wouldn't blame that on the supplier, however. For an everyday computer, these memory chips would be just fine, but If I had to upgrade again, I would probably opt for larger RAM.

Upgraded 2 older Sony computers from 512MB to !GB. Memory sticks came well packaged. Both computers booted right up recognizing new memory and are loading content faster. Both computers are working fine with no problems after installation. I should have done this a couple of years ago.

Fits and works perfectly! No complaints from the BIOS! I only over-clock to 8% with the built-in ASUS settings, and somebody with OC skills can probably go beyond that!
