I was initially cautious about buying a cheap device to deal with error codes on my car, but after a little look around I chose this one, and it's so cheap I didn't mind taking a risk, but after using it several times it's doing everything I need, and is capable of much more. Choosing the right software makes a big difference, I'm using Torque Pro on my Android phone (Samsung S6) and on my 2007 Peugeot I'm able to deal with the error codes as well as monitor an amazing amount of feedback from my car's sensors, there is a free version of Torque which does all I needed, I bought the pro version mainly to support the developer. Other apps I tried were problematic and unreliable, if that happens to you then try Torque, it's probably not this device that's at fault. It seems to be well made (clearly not premium quality but solid and feels like it should work for decades), fits neatly onto the plug and holds securely, I had no problem connecting, and staying connected, to my phone. Most importantly to me, in combination with the Torque app, I can read and interpret my error codes and history, as well as remove them either to check if they reappear or once the fault is fixed. Additionally I can monitor temperatures from various sensors as well as information about the emissions, fuel mix, turbo pressure, etc etc etc, I never knew my car had so many sensors! There is also functionality to feed info to your phone while driving, perhaps as a HUD, I even checked the difference between GPS speed and the ECU reported speeds! I'm such a geek!Read full review

... this is not a good ELM 327 clone. It would pair normally with Android Software, but try using it and half of the software that can actually help you solve your problems will complain that this is not a good clone. I have several different flavors of such OBD adapters and this is the first that simply does not work with the software I have been using for ages. Great seller and a quick dispatch, but you get what you pay for.

some obd II apps does't see this adapter, but another apps do. I still haven't found so good app as i used before, which works with my previous OBD II module. Connection is fast, three LED signaling if is it connected to the phone and to the car. Tested on four cars so far, just one of it had some problem and this device showed it very accurate (as I knew what's wrong before) The rest go from the app. I can recommend for this price, thank you

So I had the 'OBD' light come on my car, and as we all know this could be nothing to bad all the way to very bad news. I went to the local garage, they wanted to charge £40 just to use a device like this to tell me what the problem was, that is when I looked on ebay and found this. I had read other reviews, and could only find good reviews that people had left, so I thought oh well its only £5, lets give it a go. To my amazement, not only did the box contain the diagnostic scanner tool, but a CD that had all the apps for android, apple, and pc, now these are not just the free versions, these are the full version apps, which could of cost another £2 - £3 if you'd brought the app from android play store. So in my mind the cost of the scanner itself is now down to about £2! I thought okay, now for the truth, so I plugged the scanner into the car and connected it to my phone via the bluetooth, which may I say worked first time with no problem. Using the app that I had already installed on my phone via the CD provided (again worked first time, no problems) the scanner searched away and came back with two faults that was wrong with my engine, not only did it just tell me the fault codes, I was able to click on the fault code and the app searched the internet and gave me a very detailed description of the fault and what was needed to fix it! To me this bit of kit was priceless, I went back to the garage with this information in hand, okay they insisted to use there own diagnostic scanner but would not charge me if the same faults was found, they added, these items are not very good as they are so cheap! But to there amazement they found exactly the same faults as this diagnostic scanner picked up, they had to eat there words on this one! I can not recommend this item enough, it does exactly what it says and for the price, to be honest this bit of kit could easy be sold for more money and would still be worth it. I only gave 5 stars because that was the maximum, this item really needs 10, don't even waste any more time reading reviews on this one, just buy! From one very happy customer.Read full review

I connected this to my BMW 116 as it had stalled. I quickly got the two fault codes. The first one indicated multiple cylinder not firing, i would have like to know which ones were problematic as then i would have changed the appropriate coil/plug. I had to call somebody else with a more expensive scanner which identified exactly the cylinders that were not firing. So, this tool is certainly worth the money to narrow the fault, i have not tried to see if cancels. I also do not know whether it will pick up ABS faults. But overall, value for money.
