"The "Snowblind cd was recorded in 5 Nashville recording sessions. I had the pleasure of bringing my drummer son for 2 of the sessions. We enjoyed driving to Tennessee and the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia were spectacular. The Nashville musicians were incredible. We had a tobacco chewing Texan, David Russell who played textbook fiddle and mandolin. Then there was John Kearns who was touring with Emmylou Harris every other weekend. I saw John play with a local band and he performed like he had been with them for years. It was his first gig with them and he met them on stage. Steve Haggard was the producer and harmonica player. Steve is a brilliant producer and musician. Randall Merryman was the engineer. One of the best engineers in the business as long as he had food. So I'd play a song for the team with my acoustic guitar and before I was finished they knew the song as they were ready to record. They use a musical notation devised in Nashville instead of regular sheet music. The music was recorded first and then my vocal tracks were done last. Steve Haggard and Randall cracked the whip with my vocals. They wanted enunciation and timing at the top of their agenda. They told me to sing the first song through a couple times to warm up my voice. When they were ready to record it was a method of singing a vocal line, singing it over, sing the last word in the line and stress a "t" or an "s" and so on. One of their famous jokes was "we liked your first mistake better". Recording 2 vocal track in one day was exhausting. I rode a mountain bike each day for a month before I went to Nashville."...Glenn

Snowblind Reviews:

Glenn French Snowblind.

Self-taught musician Glenn French’s music is easy to listen to, very folksy with a touch
of country and still has a sound that many will enjoy listening to. This Connecticut native’s music offers a full rich sound with a maturity that is quite refreshing. His musical influences include Crosby,Stills, Nash, The Beatles, Mamas and Papas, Jim Croce, and The Turtles.

From Reverbnation, we learn his ensemble consists of: Glenn French: singer/
songwriter, guitar, John Kearns: guitar, David Russell: fiddle, mandolin Chris James, Rob
Barry: keyboard Michael French: drums. In a recent interview, I asked Glenn who some
of his favorite singers or groups are and he replied he likes Dave Mathews, John Mayer,
Train, and Daniel Powter.

French has a way with both singing and songwriting, letting it show on Snowblind.
Glenn states, “I write from the heart about circumstances I’ve personally come across,
love, and relationships with different people.” His music has a varied style from easy
listening (‘The Open Road’) to folk (‘Young Boy’s Eyes’) to country (‘It’s All Behind
Me,’ and ‘Soldier’), and French even splashes some easy rock in a few of his songs (‘The
Simple Things’ and ‘Was It All A Dream’). His voice lends a unique authenticity to the
ballads of ‘Snowblind’ and ‘On The Night Train’.

“Glenn French's new release called "Snowblind" is "The Epitomy" of the Folk music we crave so much. This album will take you places without even packing your bag, You will loose yourself in the glorious sounds of Glenn's Vocals and a variety of spectacular Instruments. It is a laid back, easy style that will sweep you away, only to be delighted and surprised when a mando or violin breaks in. This entire album pulled me back into the days of Don McLean and James Taylor. He has captured a whole world in this one 13 Track album.”
