Great little item that will save you loads of money, just use it like a screwdriver, but be careful, it's just a tap, if you go too hard at it, it will snap, use a little cutting oil on it. If you don't have any, even a little drop of cooking oil would help and the threader will last longer

Get out of trouble tool.
A very useful must have tool when doing electrical work. A little pricey but an essential tool for dealing with cross threaded back boxes, very common on older installations. As a hand tool it is very easy to use, rather than a tap and holder.

3.5mm Tap Driver
Great tool and works a treat. I had a socket plate fixing snap off in the back box and the room had been freshly plastered. After removing the broken fixing the thread was damaged. This tool recut the thread and a new fixing secured the socket in position. Cheap good quality tool and an asset to any diy tool kit.

If you've got filler in the threads of your metal backbox then this is just the tool for you. I thought I would use one of my taps but they were either 3 or 4mm. The rethreader can be left in your tool box for when the need arises and the job is quickly done. A very useful little tool.
