This auction is for a 1983 Westone Thunder III, it's the later (and very rarely seen) passive version of that model with a Maple body, solid Maple heelless set neck and S/H/S pickups. There's a a single volume and two tone coltrols, a three way switch for the neck and bridge single coils, and separate switches to turn on the middle humbucker, one to select it as either front/both/rear coils on and a phase reverse switch. Play with those switches and you will get the sound you want, no matter what style you play.
There are some marks on the body, not surprising given that it's 29 years old, but nothing serious. I had more marks on my body when I was that age… In the close up of the back of the body, the two darkest marks are not dings they are (Very appropriately) what we used to call Thunder flies. There is virtually no fret wear, and everything works as it should.
The bad bits - it's missing the tremelo arm (Standard 6mm screw in type, easily and cheaply available) and the collar it screws into which is more decorative than functional, you don't really need it, the trem works fine without it. The truss rod cover is missing - you know how it is, you take something off and put it in a safe place that is so safe even you don't know where it is. I'll send it on to the winning bidder if/when it turns up.
The centre humbucker is not original, it's a DiMarzio Paf Pro. Personally I prefer it to the sound of the stock MMK45 that would have been there originally.
Collection in person is possible if paying cash, otherwise it will need to be posted. Postage costs are estimates, if it's less I'lll refund the difference, if it's more I'll pay the extra myself.
