When I first got the tool, it looked very good quality, I plugged it in, started desoldering, it worked wonders: so I was eager to write a good review! A few hours later it seemed to stop sucking solder, I thought maybe the board I was desoldering has issues. But this continued on with every board I tried to desolder! I checked, and the nozzle had completely disintegrated and had holes in it all over! I don't know what material it's made from, but touching molten tin at 200'C seems to destroy it in seconds. The hollow tube in the center of the tool is also made of the same material, and it also broke down, growing holes, destroying the sucking ability of the pump! Since it had broken down, I tore it apart and I saw a horrible construction at the top end, there's a switch activated when the pump pulls the piston back all the way, and this switch is just a bare copper plate, which seems to hit against the power cord at the top, and against some other components; there was significant damage, half the insulation of a live 220 Volts wire was chewed through! It also developed defects, I could hear sparking, and smoke started to come out. I inspected the board, it seemed that the soldering on the board is very poor for a few connections, causing a 220Volts spark gap, burning the board to a crisp. I complained to the seller, and the seller was very understanding with very good communication; so they sent me a replacement, and it developed the exact same faults within only a few hours of use! I would not recommend this tool! If the board is slightly reworked for quality, and the tube/nozzle are changed to a stable material, this tool would be absolutely perfect. As it is, this tool can only be used sparingly, from time to time, for a few components at a time. This tool is essentially a £20 "one-time-cheapo" for a quick desolder job.Read full review

Very simple and clever design for this product. Works very well although the top of the handle can get quite hot. An earth connection should have been added for safety, but this can be easily added if required. Very good value and a practical tool for the price. Wondering about the availability of spare heating elements when they are required. By that time might as well buy another complete desoldering gun! I have a "Pace" professional desoldering station costing ten times this desoldering pump gun, but both do the similar job. Pity the above tool was not designed in U.S. or Europe rather than China! However congratulations to the inventor of this useful tool and hope every purchaser shall be as satisfied as I am.

'm new to desoldering /soldering. I'm replacing game controller thumbsticks I bought this to aid in the removal of the old sticks. It worked really well and took a fraction of the time it did using awith n iron and braid. Really pleased

There is no way to control the heat first off so for lead free work don't even bother. The suction is pretty good for its size so if you use with a heat gun or good solder iron of some type its usable.

It just about does the job, cheap wire with a slippery coating which has caused the mains cable to pull out of the strain relief.. Not very good at holding heat, a medium heat sink is a struggle.. Would I buy one again.. No For an extra £5 I can buy much better, wish I had.
