I am delighted with this product - it has a good range of tips, heats up quickly and is quite easy to use. The flex is quite short so you need to be near a power point or use an extension lead, but I am told that is usually the case with items that produce a lot of heat. The only real down side for me is that the handle gets uncomfortably hot after a few minutes use. However, give the price of the item I think it is excellent value and would recommend it to anyone starting in pyrography.

This is the first Pyrography Kit I have bought and wanted just to 'give it a go'. It wasn't expensive, so reasonable value and is easy to use, but having only used it a few times, the brass ends (being soft when hot) are already losing their shape due to the heat that they have to get to. This may be the same with any kit, I don't know but due to this, the ones I have used are losing their screw threads and are almost impossible to fit into the handle. It is also a very slow process waiting for them to cool down before they can be swapped over. Its an OK starter set if you have never done it before but anyone with previous experience would be disappointed.

Bought as a starter to me trying a new craft. I did read the reviews and decided to buy anyway. A neat tool with a good variety of nibs. The handle itself got hot quickly making it too hot to hold so I had to keep putting it down and switching it off. The flex is really short so I needed to have an extension lead on my work table, freedom of movement was somewhat restricted. As there were no instructions I bought a book. The nibs do come loose but that is to be expected as you fix them in cold and then it gets loose as it heats up, that's where pliers come in handy. On the whole it is a good enough tool to try a new craft, but I will be buying a hot wire machine when I become proficient and happy.

Cheap price...cheap quality. Heat up time was okay. Took about 2 minutes. After using for 30 to 40 minutes, the tips started to soften and loose their shape, as well as coming loose. The shading tip bent out of shape. The pen handle grew hot and actually blistered two of my fingers. Now, cannot use, as none of the tips will screw in, seems to have melted the inside. This wood burning pen seems unable to cope with the heat. In my opinion, it is not safe, durable or stable..The pen is now useless, after only the first use.

I decided to take up a new hobby and saw a couple of videos on pyrography. I found this item very easy to use, once I had mastered the way to hold the tool to get the desired effect. A very nice piece of equipment that is light and with a great selection of tips.
